Betty Crocker Cornbread Mix - Doubling the Recipe?

Hi, I want to make a large batch of cornbread for dinner tomorrow and I'm using the Betty Crocker Cornbread %26amp; Muffin Mix. I am going to make either a double or triple batch. The instructions say I should bake 16 to 18 minutes until golden brown. Since I am making a larger batch, how can I test it for ';done-ness';? Does sticking a toothpick in it work (when it comes out clean)?Betty Crocker Cornbread Mix - Doubling the Recipe?
You don't need two pans - just one large one. Cook it longer and yes - when the toothpick somes out clean, it's done.Betty Crocker Cornbread Mix - Doubling the Recipe?
yes, that will let you know

but just because your making more than one batch doesnt mean it all gets baked in the same pan. ide divide it into 2 cooking pans or get one bigger one... and then bake at the normal directed temp... for possibly a little longer cause it will be thicker
yeah using a toothpick works...thats what i always do. and if your going to double the recipe, it doesnt mean you double the time...it may need to go in the oven a few minutes longer. or, to make it easier, just put the two mixes in seperate pans...

merry christmas (:
You will have to cook a bit longer, but it will help speed cooking time if you use a bigger pan so the cornbread is roughly as thick as the original recipe. You can test with a toothpick in the center.
