3 cups flour


1 Tbsp baking powder


1/2 tsp salt


1 cup butter


2 cups sugar


5 large eggs


2 tsp vanilla extract


1 1/4 cups milk


Preheat oven to 350掳F


bake untill cake is lightly brown on top and comes away from the sides of the pan and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

here is a very simple one





1/2 cup butter


1 cup sugar


1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


1 1/2 cups flour


1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder


4 eggs, well beaten





Bake in a preheated 350掳 oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered.
MAGIC WHITE CAKE





2 c. sifted cake flour


1 1/3 c. sugar


1/2 c. shortening


1 tsp. salt


2/3 c. milk


3 1/2 tsp. baking powder


4 egg whites, unbeaten


1 tsp. vanilla


1/3 c. milk





Cream together cake flour, sugar, shortening, salt and 2/3 teaspoon milk for 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in baking powder and egg whites, vanilla and milk. Beat for 2 minutes. Pour into two 9 inch pans, greased and lined with wax paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
